Reno, Nevada to Lake Tahoe then San Francisco, California

Today was a great day!

We are pretty accustomed to the up the mountain then down the mountain type of driving and we are always prepared with our cameras since the views have been amazing.  Coming in to Lake Tahoe, the tall pine trees appeared so green compared to the Nevada dessert mountains that we left behind. The color of Lake Tahoe was shockingly blue and the water was clear (a stark contrast to Lake Lanier...ew). But of course, the first thing the teenagers noticed were the Snapchat filters (lol).

Tahoe is a place that I could live in a heartbeat. The condos were within a stones throw of the gondola to the top of the mountain. The lift tickets were quite pricey but after hitting the observation deck and then up another chairlift to the summit, we realized it was worth every penny. We could have stayed there longer, but we were all so eager to hit San Francisco.

If you are prone to car sickness, sit in the front when heading out of Tahoe towards Sacramento. Ronnie enjoyed the drive but the rear passengers were a bit green.  It took about 3 hours to get to our hotel in Berkeley, CA. We dropped our bags, grabbed sweatshirts and headed to Fishermans Wharf and Pier 39 to see the seals. We had dinner at another Diner, Drive-In and Dives location, Pier 23. It was....OK.

Then, one last surprise for the kids.  We took them to Twin Peaks which overlooks the entire San Francisco Bay Area. It was gorgeous lit up at night...and cold! Important reminder:  Do NOT laugh at your daughter's pain when she gets hit by an out of control skateboard.  Karma is a B!$#@H!! I took a major spill at the top of twin Twin Peaks last night when trying to get one last photo of the view.  I'm bruised, but fine.

Tomorrow we are headed to Muir Woods, then on to more touristy stuff in San Francisco downtown.
